TBR introduces LEA Toolkit and Value Added Support Services
Following the Sub National Review it is now statutory for local authorities to complete Local Economic Assessments (LEA). This is a requirement of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction (LDEC) Bill, which outlines how Local Economic Assessments will be used within regions as part of an evidence base for economic development.
The Improvement and Development Agency has produced guidelines on the steps needed to establish a LEA. TBR is providing LEA evidence and reports for a number of Local Authorities, and has identified gaps in evidence bases and additional data that would benefit process. In summary, TBR is able to provide:
- Detailed commercial and labour market statistics
- Strategic insight based upon detailed evidence about local economies
- Assessment of the implications identified from strengths and weaknesses
- Linked property analysis to feed into the development of LDF and Core Strategy
- Analysis that supports stakeholders involved in detailed local projects
- Evidence in support of local investment decisions
TBR provides added value to Local Economic Assessments using TCR, a detailed dataset that reflects the changing economy in a comprehensive way.
You can view more information about TBR's LEA work by clicking here.
