In his relationship with TBR Terry has combined his LSE based qualifications in economics with extensive business knowledge and an acute understanding of TBR work and capabilities. His knowledge of the inner workings of private sector organisations is invaluable to TBR business analysis. As Strategic Development Director he provides business and marketing advice. Now based in the South East of England he has formed relationships with many of the leading figures in the UK’s economic development agenda.
He is highly skilled in presenting TBR products and services to potential clients and explaining the benefits of our unique approach to research. Terry is responsible for leading the development of many of TBR’s new research products such as NightMix, which is the first UK measurement of the value and structure of the UK evening and night time economy. Terry helped to define a new way to measure UK and regional tourism impact; provide economic focus to rural market town regeneration projects and the evaluation of sub regional economies and strategies and research projects in the new business development agenda and in comparative local economic assessment.
Before joining TBR in 2000 Terry had managed is own consultancy and held key positions in a wide-ranging career within the private sector, with large organisations such as Unilever, Wilkinson Sword and Arthur Guinness. At Wilkinson Sword for example, he became their youngest subsidiary Board Director and oversaw their European operations from their base in Milan. He has run and invested in his own businesses.
Outside TBR Terry is passionately interested in the causes and effects of deprivation on children and young people and is Chair of an educational special needs charitable trust for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
