Laura has recently joined TBR following a career as a post-doctoral researcher at Newcastle University where she completed a KTP (Knowledge transfer Partnership) in partnership with Innovate UK, Newcastle University and a large global chemical manufacturer. During this role and her preceding PhD studies, Laura gained experience in quantitative and statistical analysis of experimental patient data. Additionally, Laura developed key data interpretation and reporting skills through her significant contribution to the writing of data reports and data presentation including the production of primary research manuscripts.
Since joining TBR in September 2016, Laura has gained experience in the use of TBR’s longitudinal business dataset, TCR, to carry out economic analysis, detailed trend analysis and sector mapping. In addition to using TCR, Laura is skilled in analysing data from a variety of different sources and is experienced in working with secure microdata. Laura has performed key analytical roles in recent projects including the collection and collation of data, data validation and quality assurance to assess suitability of the data against the specific requirements of the client and quantitative analysis and interpretation.
Laura has a PhD in Medical Research, a MRes in Medical and Molecular Biosciences and a Bsc (Hons) in Biomedical Science from Newcastle University. Additionally, Laura holds Accredited Researcher status from the Office of National Statistics.
Out of work, Laura enjoys going for walks in the countryside and spending time with her family and friends.
