Jonathan possesses particular expertise in conducting quantitative and qualitative labour market and Skills research as well as a detailed knowledge of Environmental issues affecting economic development. Jonathan plays a central role in delivering TBR’s skills and environmental work. Jonathan is Certified Prince 2® Practioner and has excellent written communication skills and such is adept at translating research findings into accessible key messages for clients.

Jonathan is also highly proficient in consultation design and execution, having co-ordinated a number of TBR’s recent large-scale consultations. Jonathan has undertaken labour market and skills research projects for several different clients, including the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES), Creative and Cultural Skills and Lifelong Learning UK. These projects required analysis of both government data and primary research outputs as well as lucid presentation of key messages. Jonathan has also made a particularly significant contribution to TBR’s groundbreaking analysis of the low carbon-sector.

Jonathan has built a wider variety of research experience gained through his academic studies and work experience. Jonathan has a MA in Local and Regional Development from Newcastle University and undergraduate degree in Geography from the University of Liverpool. Prior to joining TBR, Jonathan worked at University Campus Suffolk, which at the time was rapidly expanding.

Since joining TBR Jonathan has helped to increase TBR's involvement in charitable events. In his spare time he plays sport (football and badminton mainly), and goes to live comedy and music events.
