Creative & Cultural Skills have commissioned TBR Economics to conduct a three-stage project involving an assessment of; the economic impact of the creative and cultural industries; the size and nature of the 'footprint' of the industry; the occupational map of the footprint.
Kensington & Chelsea Labour Market

TBR Economics have just completed Phase 2 of an investigation of the labour market in Kensington & Chelsea. Phase 1 identified the skills and qualification needs of local businesses, while Phase 2 sought to understand the extent to which current training providers were meeting those needs. An Action Plan was developed to identify how local training providers can more closely meet the needs of local employers, thus ensuring that the area supplies candidates fit for the available jobs.
City Growth Luton

TBR Economics were commissioned to take forward EEDA's City Growth Luton project, with a focus on Luton's identified clusters of aerospace, airport, food & drink and ICT. Recognising the lack of research relating to labour and skills within these clusters, the focus of the research was on understanding through data analysis, survey and consultation, more about issues including skills shortages, recruitment problems and numeracy and literacy issues.
The economic impact of business closure

The London Development Agency have commissioned TBR to undertake a project to understand the impact that business closure has on the London economy. The work involves the application of a survey methodology developed by TBR in 2001, as part of a similar project in the North East, and will interview over 300 people who have experienced business closure.
Local area sector data: the creative industries

For GLA and the LDA, TBR are undertaking a project that will provide data on the creative industries in London. Crucially, data will be generated at local geographical levels, but will sum to overall figures provided by the publicly available source ABI.
Survey of businesses in Enterprise Areas

IPPR have commissioned TBR to undertake a telephone survey of businesses in Enterprise Areas of 3 UK cities: Derby, Doncaster and Sunderland. Since ward boundaries have changed since Enterprise Areas were defined in 1998, TBR have had to access historical geographical information contained with the Trends Central Resource to identify existing firms that are located in 1998 Enterprise Areas.
