Identifying Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Collating Local / Regional Research on SMEs
TBR have been successful in winning work from the SBS to identify entrepreneurial behaviour and collate local / regional research on SMEs.
Research priorities for the SBS for 2002/03 have been determined to ensure that research is at the core of policy development, and that within the SBS there is developed a substantial knowledge base about entrepreneurial behaviour. As part of this process a number of policy teams have identified a need to find out what SME research has been carried out locally. This will enable SBS to share research evidence throughout the network, avoid duplication of effort and enable them to spot information gaps.
The project will be carried out mainly through telephone interviews (supplemented with some face to face interviews) of information managers / researchers in Regional Development Agencies, SBS Regional Teams, Business Link Operators (BLOs) and their partners. Desk research will be required to supplement the interviews (websites, etc.). A searchable database of research will be compiled.
