The Service Industry Across the Northern Way
The three regions of interest (North East, North West and Yorks & Humber) form a consortium which is undertaking a project entitled "The Northern Way". As part of this project, ONE North East has commissioned TBR to conduct a project that seeks to understand issues associated with the presence (or not) of service businesses within the collective and individual regional economies.
The principal objective of this study is:
- To understand the relative strength and weakness of the Service sector in the three regions taking part in the Northern way project.
In this case, strength and weakness is initially defined by the notion of "presence", i.e. in terms of firms and employment, what exists within the three regions compared with the rest of the UK?
