EMDA - Logistics Cluster Development
Trends Business Research and PAWA Consulting will work in partnership to achieve the objective of progressing the strategic development of the Logistics industry in the East Midlands in order to improve the economic environment for logistics and ultimately impact upon the productivity and wealth generation of the businesses within the industry for the benefit of all stakeholders.
The work is structured upon the development recommendations from the report entitled “Logistics Cluster Mapping and Development” carried out by TBR and published in September 2002. The strategic steps outlined in that report have been developed and elaborated to suggest specific tasks, steps and roles which will be implemented during this project.
Fundamentally, this project will move EMDA from a position of knowledge about the Logistics industry, to one of activity and implementation.The recommendations that are being implemented at this stage are:
- Dovetailing of East Midlands with regional and national initiatives
- Establishing a Regional Logistics Steering Group
- Establishing a Cross-Cutting Theme
- Developing skills
