Leicestershire Design Industry: Maximising Potential
In April 2004 TBR were appointed by emda to undertake a study of the design industry in Leicestershire. The aims are:
- To understand the nature and dynamic of the industries that make up the design sector in Leicestershire and their contributions to the regional economy
- To determine if the characteristics of the industries - when taken together and developed - carry the potential to be a cluster
- To develop a strategy for intervention in the sector / cluster
- To begin a process that engages and involves the sector in potential development activity
These projects aims will be met through a research process that includes: analysis of the Trends Central Resource; face-to-face and telephone interviews with 200 firms in the industry; desk research of the global drivers for the industry; SWOT analysis and suggestion of policy implications.
TBR have a great deal of experience of such studies, and a great deal of experience of the East Midlands economy.
