Developing the clothing and textile cluster in the East Midlands
This project has been the largest cluster development activity undertaken in England. It was completed to time and budget within three months. During this time, we:
- Researched and analysed the cluster and the global industries
- Saw nearly three hundred people from the cluster
- Made overseas visits to similar clusters in Los Angeles and Westfalia (Germany)
- Designed and managed an event towards the end of the project with an objective to secure commitment from cluster members to engage with the development process.
We continue to be engaged with the cluster development process in a number of ways including:
- Assisting initiative sub groups to develop action plans in support of the developed strategy
- Developing a long term implementation plan
- Producing a cluster based newsletter - eventually to be taken over by the cluster itself.
Our report consists of 19 chapters, largely built around graphical and tabular material. To view the report map. For more information about this project contact us.
TBR has been involved in a number of cluster development projects including the report for the DTI - Business Clusters in the UK - A First Assessment. This is a good starting point if cluster mapping is of interest.
